2000 civic ex surging idle.

Hi everyoine im new but not my first forum so im going to cut straight to the point. I came into this car by trading my 94 R/t stealth (na) straight across for the car. Now i knew the car pretty well through the previous owner. Well anyways the previous owner had let it set for sometime. When i got the car i drove it home but it was spuddering. My frist fix was gas and fuel filtoer which fixed most of my problem. I also had to put the air temp sensor back into the intake. It was just hanging. that fixed my dieing problem while i was driving. Now... here is where im stumped. The car is throwing a code which needs to be checked but the car is surging real bad. When its cold it idles at about 1500 rpms and stays but surges. when its real hot the idle drops to about 600 and it takes a second after pushing the gas for it to even rev.

Ill throw up a vid tomorrow but off hand does any1 have a clue??? I think it might be a o2 sens... but i have no knowledge on honda's i drive a 3000gt' and most of my time im dealing with it lol Thanxe for any help and im looking forward to getting to know you guys! OHH!!! and this honda is a 1.6 vtech.

Did you get a scanner on it? Most parts stores will scan it for free if you don't own one or know anybody that owns one.

I think the next thing I would check is the vaccume lines but without the code it's a lot harder to diagnose.
