OEM six-speaker setup questions - Resistance and wiring for four-channel aftermarket?
Howdy folks.
Car is a 2005 Civic EX with the mirror-pod tweeters, and the OEM 6-CD dual-DIN receiver.
Looking to upgrade to a new HU as the current one is occasionally failing to read CDs, but I'm concerned as every aftermarket HU I see only has four speaker outputs. From what I understand the OEM dual-DIN Honda receiver has six - the usual four, plus a pair of ones specifically for the mirror-pod tweeters.
How can I go about wiring the tweeters into a new install with a minimum of stress? Did Honda wire them up to somehow chain into the door speakers, so that each tweeter+door combo gives a 4ohm load, or are they individual pairs of wires, each on a 4ohm load?
Anyone who's taken apart a 6-speaker Honda OEM stereo or the dual-DIN Honda OEM receiver, please help me out on this. I don't want to buy a replacement Honda OEM deck because for that money I could get a dual-DIN touchscreen DVD/GPS/BT receiver, with awesome on top.
Thanks!

Re: OEM six-speaker setup questions - Resistance and wiring for four-channel aftermar
First of all,
You have to replace those speakers. They blow after 15 min with an aftermarket HU. Just did the exact replacement you did. But put in Infinity component set in the front doors. Totally worth it. When you take a look at the speakers you will understand what i am saying.
Anyway if you wire it parallel, the Impedance is still going to be 4 ohm if that is what those crap OEM speakers are.
