2004 honda civic brake fluid

I posted this question earlier and it did not post for some reason.I need to get my brake fluid changed.Do honda civics take special brake fluid?I called several repair shops,some say hondas do take special brake fluid and some say they don't.Does anyone have the correct answer? Thanks

Just honda brake fluid from the dealer. I use ATE racing blue,it has a higher wet and Dry boiling points, but i autocross... for DD ATE or Honda would be fine.

Thank you for your answer.I heard two different stories ,one said honda brake fluid and the other repair shop said just regular brake fluid.

i would use the honda fluid, its formulated better than generic store brand dot3.

The Honda dealership guy himself told me that Honda DOT 3 brake fluid is exactly the same as the aftermarket stuff you buy, it's just a lot more expensive and it's hard to find in a big jug. So if your draining the entire line you will need a big jug. I say just get the cheaper aftermarket stuff and save yourself some money.

Its dot 3 brake fluid. All brake fluid is synthetic, don't fall for the bs!!!!
