Questions Regarding Parts to Buy & Other Information

I was thinking about getting the following products (I have a 2001 Civic EX Coupe 5sp):
Pioneer DEH-P7400MP MP3/CD Player
Infinity Kappa 10.2T 1inch Tweeters
Infinity Kappa 63.3i 6.5in 3-Way Speakers

First, I don’t want a subwoofer just yet. Maybe down the road but not yet. If I go with
this system to replace the stock one:

1.) I assume since this unit only has 4 channels that my 6x9 Stock speakers in the back
wont get powered. Am I correct or incorrect?
a.) If (1 == incorrect) then
Will the 6x9's sound decent enough in the back or should I take them out. I'm
reluctant to take them out because I wont have no speakers in the back.

2.) Is this setup a decent one for someone who just cant stand the distortion and
background hissing of the Stock HU and wants to get something better but not Competition
Quality?

3.) I am getting this for around $550 (including S/H). What recomendations would you
have if you dont like my setup that are in the ball park of $450-$600 (Including s/h)?

4.) Should I wire the speakers with Monster Cable or just keep the Stock cable wiring?

5.) Can this head unit push enough juice to those speakers to make them sound Decent?

Thanks
Oren

Hi oren,

For one.. don't buy 3ways and tweeters.. buy the Kappa Components...they will Sound much much better.... They'll be allright running off HU power.. This way you can still keep your rear 6X9's....should save you about $50 too..Also..try onlinecarstereo..shipping is free..I'll link you to the parts you want

Pio 7400MP3 $289 shipped

Kappa Components $209 shipped

and for best sound add an amp for your components Bolt 75Wrms x2 amp $119 Shipped.

$617 total...Pretty figgen good soound

Sorry mohawkboom, wanted to pick your brain for some more information.

So your saying not to buy the tweaters?
Also, should I run monster cable throughout my audio componenets to ensure best quality sound, or is the stock wiring good enough?

So far from what I got, here would be my setup:
Pio 7400MP3 HU
Stock Tweaters (powered by Pio 7400MP3 HU)
Stock 6x9's (powered by Pio 7400MP3 HU)
Infinity Kappa 60.3cs Components 6.5" (powered by Bolt amp)
Bolt 75Wrms x2 amp

Also, if whats above is my setup, wouldn't just replacing the 6.5 components seem like theres to much power up front and not enough power coming from the rear? I want the sound to be somewhat evenly distributed.

Thanks again
Oren

Oren,

Generally you want 90% of the sound coming from the front speakers. With enough power to your fronts you'll never hear the rears anyways. Also an good example for high fidelity sound(well medium in a car is the best that can really be doen) sound must come from in front of you..an example often used is "How many times do you stand backwards at a concert?"...Rear speakers will cause some harsh peaks bouncing off the rear glass and also cause alot of midrange cancellation..

Don't by the tweeters and 3-Ways.. then you'll have 4 tweeters and one midrange woofer..your High will be overpowered, your midrange will sound off..and the Midbass output of Coaxial speakers is never as good as components...

For Wiring..don't buy Monster cable wired..too $$$.. just buy generic 16 guage speaker wire and run that from the back of your amp to your speakers..and keep the stock Wiring in the rear (or just unplug the rears because the cheap paper cones offer alot of distortion anyways...

Feel free to do some more brain picking if you want I'm here till 2 am lol.

Cheers

Oren,

if you bought the kappa components, you wouldn't be powering the stock tweeters by the HU,
you'd be replacing them with the ones what come with the infinity's.

component speakers = tweeter, woofer and crossover.

Couple last questions
I will get the
Pioneer DEH-P7400MP MP3/CD Player HU, and
Infinity Kappa 60.3cs Components first.
After(Maybe in mid may) I will get a set of 6x9s. Also, if I need more power to the components and 6x9s, I will get the
Lightning Audio B.400.4 (AMP)

What 6x9 would be a good round out for this setup (around $100)?
I will be buying the 6x9s cause I like the additional bass that I hear when I have the 6x9s enabled. I tried putting my fade to the front but like it better when I hear a more surround sound.

I see that the components have a connection with gauge wire. Is the outputs from the Pioneer DEH-P7400MP HU RCA or gauge? How would I setup the HU to power the Components?

Thanks
Oren

Just use the Stock speakers wires for now.. for HU power the wires big enough...
Also, with Components they'll put our more midbass than most 6x9's.. if you want actual bass.. get a small sub and small amp..1 1" Cerwin Vega HED and a that bolt amp. Bridge the 2 rear channels to the sub, use the 2 front channels for the components..With the sub and box it'll be about $25 more than 6X9's and you have alot more and much lower bass. It's not gonna rattle block..but it'll bump..

Cheers

I will use the stock speakers for now but will eventually get 6x9s.
I want to know what 6x9s are good for around $100?

I will eventually push those 6x9s with Lightning Audio B.400.4 (AMP)

I dont want to get a sub. I just want a nice set of 6x9s.
