Debris blowing through air vent.

Whenever I use my air vent (not A/C) in my car I get all kinds of debris coming through. This doesn't happen with the heater. Anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? My car is a 1996 Civic DX.

Also, I was looking for a kit to add auto/remote locks to my car. I found a kit on this site http://www.slickcar.com/ but i'm not sure if is legitimate.

Re: Debris blowing through air vent.

do you have cabin filters? if not you may have leaves or something inside those plastic air inlet vents on the bottom of the front windshield. thats where air comes in from the outside so if theres junk it will get sucked in.

I don't think my model has cabin filters, so I guess this is normal. Maybe I can put some metal mesh over the intakes or something.

Hopefully it's a 6G (that's why you posted here). If so, your car definitely does not have in-cabin filtration and yes, check the intake area at the base of the windshield (by opening the hood). Some of the very small stuff there will get pulled in. Plus parts of leaves will shred in the fan and can remain in the vents until you crank up the fan the next time.

Re: Debris blowing through air vent.

You can open the fan box under the dash and clean that out if you wish.
