Post NEED HELP PLEASE, narrowing down problem.... long thread though sorry

okkkayyy straight to the point, i have a 04 turboed civic ex coupe.... its been working great for a long time, and finally having a major problem with my cooling system. now this is whats happening, when i drive my car coolant from my reservoir tank explodes out everywhere onto the engine. it doesnt leave me low on coolant but it does start overheating if my coolant isnt topped off to the fullest. i have a koyo radiator and have been using prestone coolant the majority of the time and was told to use dex cool coolant for GM and aluminum radiators. prestone coolant i hear can cause clogs in aluminum radiators. so i did a radiator flush. it looks as if i have a good flow going through my radiator but when it came to adding coolant it could barely put a gallon of coolant in it. as in pouring it through the funnel and starts coming out more and more to the point i have to turn off the car and let it go down. i also have the heat on to get any air pockets out. i also checked to see if any tubes were clogged and nothing. my thermostat is working but i dont know if its opening at the right time. is taking out the thermostat completely a safe test? any other suggestions of what it might be? thank you for your time and input....
