Engine failed to start and awkward noise heard

When I tried starting my civic this morning, as soon as the starter motor stopped turning and the engine started it switched off right away. I then heard a noise coming from the air vent between the steering wheel (on the right of the car) and the driver’s window. It sounded as though there was a liquid being sucked out of a container and lasted for about 5 secs. It did this twice and started normally on the 3rd attempt. The outside temperature was about +6°C and the engine is a B16A2. The ‘check engine’ light did not come on, in fact, all the lights on the gauge cluster switched off when the engine did. Any idea what could have happened?

Re: Engine failed to start and awkward noise heard

It sounds like the coolant working its way through the heater core. It's probably not a symptom of a problem. Make sure your coolant level is good.
