Motor Mount Problems/Reviews
Motor Mount Problems/Reviews
Okay people, here's my problem:
I installed a stage 1 clutch into my manual trans 04 coupe. After the break in period I started to play around with it to see how well it performed. Long story short, my front motor mount is broken (metal snapped in half) and the other two side mount's bushings are shredded/dry rotted/corroded/pretty much non-existent. I don't know about the rear one, I can't see it. Now, because the motor isn't really being supported AT ALL, when I shift the whole engine twerks SO BAD that:
1) the right side of the engine is slamming into the hood everytime I shift and has resulted in the driver's side of the hood not sitting flush and having a huge gap by the headlight (probably going to need a new hood and hood brackets)
&
2) The AC pulley and belt is being thrusted upward into the power steering hosing when I shift, which has now grinded a clean hole into the return hosing to the power steering fluid reservoir. My power steering fluid is being spewed all over my engine bay and if I keep driving the car it will burn the power steering pump out, which I don't really want to replace AS WELL.
Bottom line: I need new motor mounts.
I think to myself, why buy the stock ones so they can break again when I can get harder, better, faster, stronger mounts. Mmm, Polyurethane!! So I'm asking everyone to give me a little insight about the aftermarket mounts/bushings they have installed on their 7th gen so I can make an educated decision before I make a purchase.
The one's I have been looking at are the Innovative Mounts sold on Password JDM. I like this set because I really need the whole mounts not just the bushings.
I've been told that you have to be careful which ones you choose because the strength of the bushing could make your daily ride a vibration rattle from hell.
Any help, information, or guidance will be greatly appreciated. THX everyone!

Re: Motor Mount Problems/Reviews
This is the first time that I've heard of the metal on the motor mount snapping. If that is the case you shouldnt be driving it any further. Get that mount replaced ASAP. Most people just use the OEM mount and put Energy Suspension Motor Mount inserts in them for the front and rear mounts on the stock motor.
Re: Motor Mount Problems/Reviews

I don't want to buy the stock ones again because it may happen again. I need the whole assembly. As of right now I'm driving my g/fs car and my poor civic has just been sitting in the driveway for months. Anyone know of any good sets? Thanks!
