Quick q...

I'm rebuilding 2001 civic lx manual tranny, replacing clutch, clean up fly, and replace broken engine mount for 1700 out the door including labor... before christmas that is...

Do you guys think that's about fair price for mechanic work - I'm sure it will be lot cheaper if I do the work myself, but no time...

Thanks for your tips! Happy Holidayz...

Re: estimate

Why rebuild? Go to a salvage yard, pick up one for way less. A fresh clutch and FW should cost you no more then 300 on eBay...And the mount should be less then 50 bucks to buy from a salvage yard as well. If I were you, i'd buy all the parts and take it to the mechanic.
