engine hesitates during acceleration
hey guys
i live in toronto canada and thought i would look around on here for a problem i am facing
i drive a 2001 Acura 1.7EL which is the same as a civic si (1.7L sohc vtec pgm-fi) just four doors and a slightly different front end/tail-lights.
so my engine hesitates during acceleration.. a TSB on shop key 5 told me that 1.7L vtec sohc engines will hesitate/studder between 2500-3200 rpms (vtec stage 1?) due to low oil pressure.
i had replaced the crank seal and the problem had gotten better by very little, but is still intermittent, now when driving, the MIL light will come on for a split second, the car will jump, and then resume back to normal with no MIL light or codes stored in the pcm/ecm.
sometimes the light will stay on and everytime i pulled a code from it, IT WAS A DIFFERENT CODE EVERYTIME, even one giving me an automatic tranny problem despite me driving manual. i never had the same code twice
if anyone else has had this problem or has it, any help would be greatly appreciated, honda and acura all told me something that it is not, like the transmission (hopefully it is not) i do believe it could be an oil sending problem because vtec works off oil pressure, or i have a short/ground in electrical causing the ecm/pcm to mess up or a faulty/poor vtec solenoid.. i do know those have filters on them and i will be cleaning it out soon its a little too cold up here :P
ill keep everyone posted when i make small progress with the car, but please ANY HELP will be greatly appreciated!
thanks alot guys
