Crash
My Civ' is crashed. The wifey rearended some 16 year old kid that decided to slide to a stop at a green light in an old POS GMC truck.
The Civic doesnt look very good but I'm gunna perform some surgery and put the front end back together. I hope to have her ready for paint by the end of the season.
I will continue to post pictures as I do the teardown and rebuild. I guess I have a project car now...
Here's some pictures:

Re: Crash
hey, sorry to hear about that. you look to be ok since the damage is up higher. but also that truck isnt so bad. i had one of those and it lasted me forever. also, think of it this way, she could have hit something lower and messed up your frame.

Re: Crash
It doesnt look too bad, its def do-able. Just rip that busted junk off of there and order the correct parts. You could even do the 04-05 front end conversion, or pick up a carbon fiber hood.
Are those egg shells behind the drivers side headlight?

The damage is actually quite minor, I need to replace the entire core support and the power steering is gone. The core support pushed aginst the power steering pump so hard that it broke the motor mount in half. I will try to get some pictures of the motor mount today.
On a positive note, I hooked up the jumper cables and the Civ' fired right up. I only ran it long enough to back it into my garage. Dont want to kill the head.

Re: Crash
Yeah, I was also thinking your motor mounts might have ripped. But now you can pick up polyurethane mounts from ES. Those are much nicer mounts anyways. Post a pic with with engine popped. I'll let you know whatever else looks like you'll need to fix.
Ok, so I'm into the first stage of my teardown and I notice that there is a big hole on top of the thermastat housing. Looks like there used to be something there at one time.
Can anybody identify what is missing?

Damn man, Really sorry to see ur ride like this. And I can tell u one thing, I don't think it will be the same ever again. But have a Mechanic look at it, I wud say someone from Honda Dealership or someone who is trained for Civics. And make sure your Airbags will work again.
Also Keep updating us with ur Pics!

Street Kings:
I promise you that it will be like new when its done. I've rebuilt many cars and am somewhat a body guy.
BTW; only the passenger airbag deployed. I am on the verge of completely removing the airbags all together.

For now I'm driving a 1993 Ford Escort wagon
, WOOO HOOO... I'll post pics if you want, Re: Crash
Haha go wagons! No pictures necessary, I think we can all get the idea. Atleast it gets over 20mpg...Whenever my civic is out of commission I get a truck getting less than 10mpg in the city <-- sucks when you go from 30 mpg easy to 10 mpg if your lucky.
Alright everybody, made a ton of headway on the Civ this week.
New core support/header panel
New fenders
New hood
New motor mount
Bunch of crap under the hood
Ordered a special front bumper(it's a suprise)
Here's some new pics, tell me what you think.
