I'm looking for a used D16Y8 engine with low mileage to replace the D16y8 in my 2000 Honda Civic Ex. I would love to swap for something with more power, but since I am going to be doing the swap myself, and I have never done anything like this before, I figured it would be best and easiest swap for me. I'm looking to spend at most $600 on the engine, but can't seem to find hardly any used D16Y8's anywhere. The one that I did find on here has been sold, and the few that were on E-bay were not in working order. I have looked on E-bay, and done a basic google search for used engines, but have found little to nothing. The D15b'S and D16Z6's I have found readily in my price range but I'm not exactly sure how easy this would be for a noob like me to swap. There are also rebuild kits for the D16Y8 and B16 on ebay. I know the rebuild kit is a lot more work, but they have the entire kit on e-bay for $300. I am pretty sure for the B series engine I would also have to get the tranny to go with it. Any suggestions on where to find a good used D16Y8, or what a cheaper alternative to my problem might be. Thanks.
