H11 12v 55w Fog light Bulbs
anyone know anywhere to get some "reliable" bulbs?
just went to autozone and the standard sylvania bulbs were 14.99 + tax ea.
and the xtravisions were 24.99 + tax ea.
and the guy even told me they're weren't reliable and would burnt out quickly.
the bulbs i had were the ones that came w/ the ebay kit and i dont even turn them on that often...like 15 mins total a week.... and just one blew out...
help?

I had that same problem where only one bulb blew out. That sucked.. I went to Norm Reeves Honda here in Cerritos and bought the hyper yellow ones made by Halo. Pretty cool. I got it for 34.99.. pricey. But, I do like these better than the ones I had before.

nokya yellows? pretty pricey but they are super bright too
and one usually does blow out first. one of my sylvannias blew out because i left the button on and they would blink whenever i set my alarm.

i use luminics and they have a 90 day warranty. works fine for me and its a deep yellow. most coated bulb will not last as long as a clear bulb due to heat buildup.

do you leave the button on so they just come on with your parking lights + alarm
or no?
im trying to figure out if that will shorten the life of the bulb or not
or no?

Re: H11 12v 55w Fog light Bulbs
oh btw, on all the nokya hyper yellow's i've seen, they're 80 watts. but thats output right? the 55w on the h11 bulb is the input?
these seem to match up to the numbers:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOKYA...spagenameZWDVW
those are okay right?
seeing the prices online and at the store john sent me, i'll probably just go to the shop on sat and buy it before i head over for the meet.

and about the wattage, they output 80 watts, but they only consume 55 watts

Re: H11 12v 55w Fog light Bulbs
since i know the price, i'll call around to see if theres any place closer that have them. those are the only ones for the h11's right? no other output/input watt differences?you should get some fogs too, cruising canyons with fogs are amazing

the first time i actually saw my fog lightup the road was on ACH on july 4th.
it was amazing =P

Re: H11 12v 55w Fog light Bulbs
the yellows are nice, but there will be reflection in oem fogs yes. i have projectors and theyre blacked out inside so i dont get that, it just looks black from outside.
but i modded mine so i dont get any usable light on the ground, its just for looks.

Re: H11 12v 55w Fog light Bulbs
i think H11 and H8 are almost the same...only difference is h11 is rated for 80W while H8s are 35-55W...im not 100% sure so imma do some research unless someone here already knows....but i think the connectors and the socket is the same shape

Re: H11 12v 55w Fog light Bulbs
they are different bases pretty sure, but you can mod them to fit either way.
h8 is 35w 712 lumen bulb
h11 is 50w 1200 lumen bulb
h8 is 35w 712 lumen bulb
h11 is 50w 1200 lumen bulb

Re: H11 12v 55w Fog light Bulbs
yeah its only a 55w bulb draw. the "output" is just a fake aftermarket advertising saying the light will look like a real 80w bulb. which makes no sense. its 55w bulb with 55w output, prolly less since the glass is tinted yellow.
