WHat is the difference between the EX and the 1.7i ES model?
am from Oman. I bought this 2001 Honda Civic Coupe 1.7i es from Germany and when i bought it the dealers told me in general that the car i have is the exact width, length and height of the EX model used in the US. The same engine 127PS output and same engine size (1.7). It look exactly the same, but i heard there is difference between the ones used in the US and the ones used in UK and couldnt know what was the difference. I am asking who ever is out there and knows anything please email me on kimo996@hotmail.com . There is no after markets here in Oman and the only place i can find any is on the net. All the good stuff is available in the US and i want to buy, but i cant untill i am sure there wont be any problems when fitting any products. I dont know maybe intakes, headers, superchargers, these kind of stuff might not fit (i dont know). I tried my best asking lots of Honda site and they never reply back. I just knew today that the European version of the civic coupe is actaully produced in either Ohio or Alabama and exported to Europe.
Can any one help?

Here what I found and will appreciate who gets me any of the info in this copied email I have pasted:
Dear Serious Message sender :
My specialty is Honda S-Series autos made from 1963 through 1970. As a result I do not know much about current Honda products and am unable to give you direct advise. But I would do this if I were you : Acquire a parts guide from Honda Germany* and the same from a Honda dealer in the USA **check the part numbers, if the same (example rotor / brake hose) then your answer is that a US aftermarket part should fit. If no match then get your aftermarket parts from Germany were the supplier has done the research for proper part fit and use.
*where I got my car from (1.7i ES)
**EX model and the country where I want to buy the aftermarket products for my car

You're right about the ES model being practically the same as the EX model. The European LS and ES models are all made in Ohio as far as I know. There's a couple small differences.
Rear disc brakes (pisses everyone off )
Headlight angle/hight adjustment
Different tail lights
No cruise control
Officially it's 125bhp instead of 127bhp
Small difference on center console interior
The LS and ES come with ABS/EBD, 4 airbags and airco standard (automatic-airco on ES)
I'm pretty sure most things will fit. There's a specialized Honda Tuner here in Holland that sells the DC Sports TCS for both the ES and LS. Only thing that you might wanna check for sure is rear suspension stuff (because of the standard disc brakes), and engine management chips/tuning.
I haven't modded my ride (LS) yet. Perhaps in a couple a months I'm getting an intake and exhaust.
