reccomend me some new brakes

lately i've been noticing a squeeking noise whenever I have a passenger and noise when i gently apply the brakes at low speeds. Plus whenever I have my E brake on the rear rotors will still spin (someone pointed this out to me when i got my fenders rolled). Could the squeek be rust on the rotors or discs?
My car is at 56,000 miles. Should I just go with OEM pads or are there any better aftermarket alternatives that won't cost too much.

Re: reccomend me some new brakes

you have a rear disc conversion? i got EBC ultimax pad for relatively cheap and they work great. stops faster than OEM but with a little more brake dust. i brake hard and they still look like they have a lot of meat on them after 15k of hard braking.

having rust is normal so no it wouldnt be the rust i dont think. the rust gets rubbed off when the brakes are used.

Re: reccomend me some new brakes

no i dont have a conversion. its all original OEM parts and i do not believe its been changed before. Any ideas on why it squeeks when someone seats in the passenger seat and completely silent when there isnt anyone there. I hear this increasing squeeking noise off and on during drive (not during braking).

Maybe you are over loading your car? Do you have a system in the back?

kyle, you should get the rotora BBK. that's the next set of brakes i'm getting. It's over a 1K though. Spend the cash to play man. DO IT!

Re: reccomend me some new brakes

if you don't go to the track or go canyon running, i say just get oem pads. The hawk pads grip better but give off more noise and brake dust. Just search for gearbox's review of hawk and oem pads.

Re: reccomend me some new brakes

sorry, to clarify- the squeeking is in the front passenger seat. It has been getting louder. On and off squeeking while driving. And my sub weighs 15 pounds or less. Could the brake pads be causing the squeeking?

Re: reccomend me some new brakes

its probably just the brake indicator telling you to replace your brakes.

Re: reccomend me some new brakes

okay will do - thanks for that
btw, is 56,000 miles generally okay?
I do sort of ride the brakes at times - i can't drive.

btw how much do u think it'll cost to replace 4 OEM pads
and my ebrake button sometimes gets stuck when I want to push on it to let go.

Re: reccomend me some new brakes

Hawk Pads or EBC greenstuff is what I recommend. Should not cost alot. And you most likely DON'T need to change the shoes in the back just the front.

Re: reccomend me some new brakes

does the brake pad indicator squeek when driving and when braking?

anyone know why my e brake button gets stuck sometimes and I have to smack it with my palm in order for it to release?

Re: reccomend me some new brakes

^Probably because you have it pulled up too hard. The higher you pull it up, the harder it is going to be to push that button. From my experience.
