I think I will be graduating from my Civic to this...
2009 Acura TL
Rumor has it that the Type S will be AWD and 310 HP, as the base will have 280. I am looking forward to seeing it in person. Here is the press release from Acura:
What do you all think? I think it look great. I disliked the new Acura style grill like the one on the TSX until I saw the car in person and it looks great. I wouldnt mind having a TSX either actually. But I think the TL will suite me and what my needs are and what I want from a car.

Well, Im graduating from school and hopefully going to get my masters. Its a gift from my parents and my Civic actually is kind of worthless right now. It has a faulty head gasket, but I am going to miss it.

acura tl was a great car starting with the first redesign in 2003. after that it all went downhill. i would prefer the older ones imo. the new one looks very strange.

i saw the new tsx in person. It looks much nicer in person and its about as big as the current TL. The new TL is going probably a lot larger as well. I think it'll look better in person as well. I think the sh-awd is a step in the right direction.

Acura's styling has fallen off lately. There new direction doesnt look very good. If they want to compete- make cars that look good and power the right set of wheels.
Re: I think I will be graduating from my Civic to this...
i actually like the new direction acura is going with styling. pictures online dont do the cars justice imo. i am thinking about making a tsx my next car. the tl is a little too big for my taste right now. post pics when you make the upgrade.

Get an STI for that price. Your not 35 years old no need to pad your *** just yet. Its still awd and has a lot more potential. Question is can you drive a manual?
Re: I think I will be graduating from my Civic to this...
The new STI's are very ugly in person, nice on TV though.

^ I know quite a few people that prefer a smooth ride over performance. I have one friend that traded a 07 BMW 525i for a 2008 Accord EX-L v6. It was for 3 main reasons.
1. Insurance cost since he is only 23
2. Electrical reliability issues
3. Long distance comfort
He told me he got more features in the Accord and it’s a LOT easier to drive over long distances. He does drive hard but doesn’t really care to have an all out hot-rod.
Now back to the 09 TL. I do like Acura’s new designs after seeing the RL and TSX in person. Even though the cars are bigger and less sporty they “look” a LOT more expensive then last years models. They don’t really blend in anymore which is what I assume they where going for. They want people to notice them and by looking at the HUGE grill they will accomplish that. Look at how successful the new MDX is. So many people have bought them who had never even looked at Acura before.

Good luck with the 91 premium fuel you'll need everytime you fill 'er up. I'm saving money buying regular gas for Honda Honda Hondas. I'm happy with my Regular Honda 87 unleaded.

You can use 87 no problem... It will retard the ignition timing to keep the engine from knocking but you will loose a small ammount of power.

Assume 10gallons of gas on fill up time 0.20 = $2.00. Assuming you fill up once a week, i think most people can afford to pay $8.00 more for gas a month.
If you can't, you shouldn't buy a car like that in the first place.
