Question alternator/air compressor belt loose...

every time i start my car it squeals. and I'm very sick of it. so reading up on it I've determined that it is the alt/ac compressor belt. My Haynes manual shows me how to do this.(somewhat) has any one done this before??
what IS the proper tension for the belt? best way to achieve this? help is appreciated. thanks in advance.

Re: alternator/air compressor belt loose...

the bolt always comes loose on its own. im sure thats the problem. i had a shop do mine cause i couldnt reach the bolt without taking off the PS pump and wheel. just do it before the bolt falls out lol
