did you read the post under product and parts? in the post it mentions that someone needed to reset the ecu after installing a cai and it seems the way to do this is to disconnect the battery. also at my dealership the was a civic with 17s. i'm sure the dealer didnt sell it w/o reseting the ecu

fury.. i had a problem at one point where i got my 17's and my i was getting like 200 miles on a full tank. turns out its not the ECU but my tires. i went from a 215/40/17.. to a 215/45/17.... makes a world of a difference in my car.i get like 300 on a full tank now.

Okay, it works like this: If your overall wheel diameter changes from stock then your mileage will be off. Use the Tire Calc to see if the wheels you buy will change the overall diameter. So, 17's with 215/45/17 tires on them wouldn't be that big of a difference. However, to calibrate the speedometer and the mileage counter you need to edit a certain part of the ECU's flash memory. Right now only the Jet Chip people can do this. Well... That and the AEM EMS (Engine Management System). Both options are too expensive. I'm still waiting for another company to come out with something affordable (like an adapter for a laptop and software) that will do the trick.

Soooo if my speedometer is reading 4. something % too fast, that means my odometer is going to read more miles than I have driven right? Sooo that means I'm doing even less than the 200 miles to 8 gallons I've been getting! Oh and btw, there was one of those speed readers that the people set up on the street and I went by it very carefully keeping my speed at 30 MPH, and that's what it read. I have an EX with 205/45/16 tires.
