Question about changing thermostat

so i wanna change the thermostat on my car, but someone was telling me that i will have to bleed the system after because air will get in. i wanna know, is this nescessary? if so, how do i do it?

let it run with the cap off the radiator till it stops gurgling, but its not a big deal

Exactly. All you need is a 10mm socket and a 1/4 ratchet and maybe a small extension.
