Sell or not to sell?
Hi.
It's been over a year since last time I posted. Didn't have to deal with my 2003 civic EX in awhile. My tour in Korea is finishing up and I'm moving to Italy in late Jan 08.
I blew the engine on Thanksgiving 05. I replaced the engine in March 06, but the engine I replaced it with had a bad ring and buring oil. After about 2K miles, it was buring oil pretty bad before I left for Iraq.
I never sold the civic in Dec 06 when I got back from the desert because I was going to be able to keep it at my parents one of two homes. Well, they are selling the big house with 3 car garage and moving back into the condo with 2 car garage. I doubt I can occupy one of two garage space for 3 years.
The chassis was bent in a accident but was straightened out. It is shown to have a clear title on carfax. The rear right quarter panel has a dent and scratches. The chassis has about 60,000 miles.
So, should I spent the time and money to replace the engine and try to sell it quick when I'm back in CA for two weeks after I leave Korea before I go to Italy? Or should I sell it the way it is? I think there might be troubel with garage space issue in Italy if I have more than one car since I'm taking two motorcycles with me. The cost of renting a storage space is about $100 for a space large for a car.
How much do you think I can get for each option? Is it worth the trouble to fix it? How should I go about selling it? Autotrader, ebay, craiglist? I don't really want to pass this over to my sibling to deal with since they are busy.
Thanks and sorry for the long story.

Part it out and sell it as is...take the loss...not that you would get all that much anyways. I just hit 100k and have totally given up on selling it.
