hey guys this isnt a noob question about ebay resistors......well kinda.....a bunch of guys on here informed me that too much fuel is being dumped into my engine (very sooty exhaust tip, and black marks on the driveway, nearly failed emisions) and they said to check the map sensor TPS and o2 sensor. i was reading a thread about resistors off ebay that cause engines to run richer than normal to "increase" performance. the guy i bought the car from was an apparent cheap rice boy because the car looked pretty messed up (z3 fenders m3 mirrors cheapo strut bars etc...) so is it possible that he modded the ecu from junk off ebay? and where would i look to see the chip and remove it. any help is much appreciated

that ecu mod off ebay is located where the sensor that belongs on your intake goes ... what it does is confuse the car to think that the car is taking in colder air than it really is .... check by your intake, if its not there then you dont have it ... hope this helps
