Re: P/s

Because it gets really dirty.

I recommend changing it every 30K. Buy a big bottle of the stuff (like 1 qt). Drain the rezzie, and fill it back up. Start the car, move the steering back and forth for a couple minutes to circulate the fluid, drain the rezzie again and fill it back up. This will get most of the old stuff out and is probably the easiest way to do it. I'm sure you could disconnect a line at the steering rack, but that's a big PITA. This way works just as well.

Re: P/s

true Clint, but changing it in the first place is a pain, it would prolly be easier to just run the in tube to a bottle with the car running, and fill the res as the old stuff comes out, that way u dont get as many air pockets, the way we do it at work is by using a pump in pump out machine, empty the res, fill it, repeat till it comes clean

Re: P/s

All i need is just one quart? and i can do it just from the resivior? i just dont feel like paying 100 or so for a power steering fluid change. They recommended it because it hasnt been changed for 60k miles so i figured i would do it myself. and on the resivior what side is the in and what side is the out?
