** Need Radio Code! **
I have a 2001 Honda Civic and recently disconnected my battery. In turn, the "Anti-theft" kicked it and needs a code to unlock it.
If I gave my VIN # and serial (pressing 1 and 6 preset on radio) can someone give me my 5 digit code? I don't want to be bothered going to a dealer and wasting my time with them. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I am aware that the dealer would be able to do so but I've been searching the web/forums and people have posted their vin and serial and others gave them their code. I'm assuming these people that gave them their code work at a dealer. But hey, it's the 21 century! Thought I'd try my chances here and see if I'd get a quick result. Oh well ...

Funny thing about these cars you should know. That 5-digit number is on your car somewhere on a sticker. I kid you not. I didn't believe it either. Honda is kinda smart like that. Somewhere on the car, there's a 5-digit unlabeled number comprised of digits from 1-6. Mine was inside the glove box, some are on the underside of the trunk lid, under the fuse box cover under the hood, driver's side doorjam, etc.

Re: ** Need Radio Code! **
i bought mine used, there is supposed to be a card in the manual. however, mine came with an 02 manual, and it's an 04. when i needed my code, i just called my honda dealer, and gave them the 2 sets of numbers the radio displays when it's locked, and they looked up the code, and gave it to me over the phone. i'd start there. there was someone one here with access to the honda computer network that gave out the codes, but i have no idea who it was, or where they are now. start with your dealer.

Over the phone? WTF!
whats the point of making a code for their decks if they wont even make it hard for you to obtain.
Ex: OMFG!! My OEM stereo just got robbed from me!! (So you call the cops make a file, blah blah blah)/
Meanwhile the thief calls Honda to slam his new "HOT" OEM Honda deck into his POS Pinto! LMFAO!
to funny!
Re: ** Need Radio Code! **
I can't figure out why they even put a security code on them...I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting their stock radio stolen. Hell, I wish someone would have stolen mine, so I could have gotten isurance to pay for my aftermarket headunit.
Re: ** Need Radio Code! **
Hell ya!
steal my OEM deck and speakers so i can get aftermarket stuff! that'd be awesome! while your at it....trash the plastic around the deck cuz ill need to buy that piece to cuz the stock plastic wont work with aftermarket decks.
I think that piece is 150.00 alone, 400.00 for a good deck and ill goto town on some nice Fusions for the mids.
Re: ** Need Radio Code! **
Thanks guys for your input. I have heard about a sticker being some where on the car ... mine isn't in my glove box though and I had to purchase a manual seperate from the car (Original manual was French! lol)
If I can't fine the sticker with the code I'll just call the dealer. Thanks again guys!

Well I called a couple Honda dealers. F**K! One said they'd have to pull out the radio to get the serial number and it would cost just over $100!
F***k that!! Am I right when I say that my serial number can be found by holding down preset 1 and 6 on the radio and then turning it on, and then displays "U2807" and "L4696"?
Someone here must have access or work at a Honda dealer. If so, I'd really appreciate the help. Apparently, all you need is my V.I.N. # and serial number:
V.I.N. #: 2HGPF16341H941716
Serial #: 2807 4696
If anyone can help, again, I'd really apprecite it.
I've been driving with no radio/cd for over 3 weeks now and I have a 30 minute commute to and from work!

Smooth? Wtf?!
Anyways, after calling another honda dealer, they finally helped me out. I told them I needed my radio code and that I had the serial number (pressing 1 and 6 presets and then turning on the radio). I waited not even a minute on the phone and they came back with the code!!
Me so happy now.
