rpms fluctuating *fixed*
alright straight to the chase, I have a 01 LX wit 142k I leave for work and when I hit 60 I notice I'm at 3000rpms when I should be bout 2500. as I get closer to work(bout 30miles) they dropped to almost normal.
I leave work and everythings normal till I get close to home when I have to slow down for a car. I gradually get back on the gas and once I hit 60 I'm at 3000 again. this time I stay at 60 and watch the rpms drop to normal slowly again.
I know it should be the tranny but my green D isn't flashing. so I don't really know what's up wit this POS.
alright I need a break from this qwerty keyboard my thumbs hurt.
suggestions PLEASE!

Re: rpms fluctuating
do you notice any slipping between shifts? It sounds like maybe the torque converter lockup isnt working rite. Have you ever changed the ATF?

There is really no such thing as a tune up anymore... there is nothing to adjust. Just replace the plugs and if there is no DTC set in the ECU you are good to go. The tune up is dead and I hate when people try to beat it to death. The ECU adjusts everything automaticly as you drive.
If you get a CEL again make sure you get the code read asap (autozone will do it for free). If we know the code its very easy to troubleshoot.
