98 civic coupe window problem

My 98 civic coupe hx has encountered a problem with the passenger side window causing it to get stuck every time i put my window up. I just went to the mechanic and told it it was out of place and he recommended me that I would have to buy a new regulator? Has this happened to your civic and how did you fix the problem? If no solution then Ill just pay for them to fix it. thanks -jason

Re: 98 civic coupe window problem

This happened to my 97 Civic only on the driver's side.

I fixed it by taking off the door panel, removing the regulator, and lubricating the moving parts with white lithium grease. There was one part that was binding up. After lubing it up it's work fine for the last 5 years.

Re: 98 civic coupe window problem

This sounds like my 97 EX a few years ago... the windows were getting sluggish the colder the weather got and by the time winter arrived they rolled down real slowly and barely made it back up without "help" from my hand pushing upward on the glass.

One day when I brought the car in I mentioned it to the mechanic and he lubed them up a bit. Much better after that, but still not as fast as when I first got the car.

Re: 98 civic coupe window problem

This is the same problem that I have with my 97 EX. Both the drivers side window and the front passenger window are sluggish. My friends 96 is the same way. Do all Civic during these years have this problem? I replaced the regulator, the motor and the switch and and the window is still sluggish. What parts should I lube? Thanks!
