Hey Grey, quick question about ur brembo.

Can you be specific on what kinda cross drilled/slotted brembos are those? I looked through the brembo site, and obviously they dont have anything for the 7th gen... they do offer lots of different types for the other years though.

I was thinking about swapping out my stock brakes too. and maybe a rear drum-to-disc conversion too.. (rsx's?) though that doesn't matter as much compared to a bigger disk or better disk on the front.

thanks for the response.

I also have a question, is the breaking uneven at all having all that stopping power in the front and just the stock drums in the rear?

Thanks,
Redsands

On my '99 Civic I had Brembo cross-drilled rotors in the front with performance pads and stock drums in the back. Braking was improved quite a bit and it didn't feel uneven at all. I would highly reccomend the upgrade!

well with discs in front and drums in tha back you allrady have a 75-25 split between front and rear braking.. so I don't think it'll make a hocchy diff dudes

They are just rotors made by Brembo to OEM specifications. Then another company buys the rotors from Brembo and then cross-drill them and slot them. Then the company that I purchased them from also coated them with zinc. Brembo made these slightly thicker than OEM too for some reason. Anyway, that's the story. The holes in the rotors are lined up with the fins that join the two parts of the rotor together. Be waryy of manufactures that drill holes through the fins. This weakens them severely!

<< I also have a question, is the breaking uneven at all having all that stopping power in the front and just the stock drums in the rear? >>

Doesn't really matter much. Remember that when you brake the weight of the car is tossed forward and that the front brakes have to be able to do more work than the back ones. That and the fact that our cars weight is split 60/40 front/rear. That means that upgrading the front brakes should be priority number one and then upgrading the back will help a little more as well. As long as each side brakes evenly then everything should be allright. If you feel the steering pull to one side when you brake, then there is a problem. I think that if you upgrade your front brakes and there's a problem with one side gripping more than the other, then the car will pull to one side more than if you had upgraded the rear brakes. Blah blah blah...

Nope, they're real Brembo's.

This is a lower cost improvement over the stock brakes and it works! I need better tires now because I can lock the brakes at any speed. Well, not that I tried this going over 40mph, but below or at 40mph I can lock the brakes no problem.

Thats good? Locking the brakes takes a longer distance to stop. Im glad I got abs!

No, I know. I'm just saying that I have the braking power to do that. The faster you go, the harder it is to lock the brakes. Try it. Well, with ABS you kinda can't.

Anyway, with better brakes you need more friction with the ground to stop in a shorter distance. That means a greater contact patch, so bigger diameter tires and wider tires will do the trick. I can't wait to get my rims!

They're either 17" RH S7's or 18" Kosei RT Penta's. The 18's weigh 18.6 pounds, but I have no idea about the 17's? I'll find out though before I buy them. Then again, maybe 16" Rota Slipstreams? I can't decide.
