My guess would be almost anything is possible if you have a deep enough pocketbook. Go to a creditable body shop in your area and see what they can do for you. Did you happen to read the article that went with that picture. That guy went to several different body shops because they kept fuggin up the car. He ended up with I think 12 coats of paint to hide the mistakes.......

Good Luck,
Ozzy

Actually a guy on here named Lowrider or something like that has it done. He also has the reverse hood, but I haven't seen him post in quite a while.

EDIT: BTW the doors on the eclipse are not gull wing... those are more Lamborghini style doors....sorry to burst yer bubble. BTW again....Lamborghini doors are slightly cheaper than gull wings...

Let me re-phrase: I meant that style of door conversion, not necessarily gull-wing....I didn't know any other term for it.

the correct term would be scissor doors.

Is it just me, or do "scissor" doors really NOT work on cars not meant for it?

Every single pic I see of non lambo cars.... it just doesn't open enough for you to get in properly... Is it just me?!

It looks like you'd have to slip yourself in, as if you parked too close to someone else, and you had a regular door... That would look REAL sweet, too bad I have a sedan, and no 10k CDN to dump.

Your talking about Lowonair. he had his car bagged, and he had a trick hood. i didn't know about his doors but i don't doubt it. He hasn't been here in ages.

Evidently. it's really hard to get in and out of lambo's too... according to Road & Track. I've never had the pleasure myself.

well yah.. it's tough, cuz normally when you get into a car, you use the door for some stability as you make your way in.. but with scissor doors, you relly dun have much to hang on to.

i dont know why that would be so much money, all it would require is some sort of two way hinge. ! big hinge that can go 2 diffrent ways, 1 to hinge outward like 2 inchs or somthing and then the 2nd to rotate upward and downward. you would also need some kind of ummmm.. what you call those things the black long pieces that have the bar comming out, you know they open trunks on like minivans and stuff. so you would press out on the door and it would swing upwards to get out and to get in just pull it down and pull it in and it would lock. im gona draw some scymatics later. yea it'll definetly need some heavy duty air pump system (like some trunks use) cuz doors are fricken heavy, unless you want to be totally unsafe and get one of those carbon fiber ones!I agree with nukesilo about the 2-way hinge and the door would have to come past the fender once it is open. ( i guess the whole door would have to do a direct slide to the left or right and then flip up)

Anyone ever see how these guys do it with eclipses?

ya you would need a pnunamic cylinder and an aculator so you could hook it up to your alarm when you unlock the doors they would open automatically. cooolll

i was quoted 1 grand, per side. nice thing about these doors is that they dont expand out, so you CAN park 2 inches away from anyone, and open the doors fully.

i dont think its worth 2 G's tho

WhosYoDadday85 should not be trustedWhosYoDadday85 should not be trusted
Think about it....

Going down to the supermarket...
Parking your car...
Seeing a bunch of hot chicks...
Opening your doors....
Ahhhhh.....wouldn't that be nice

Also...
(Having this already wired up...)
Walking out of the mall
Hitting the disarm button, and having your doors automatically open up like that.....
Now that would be sweet!

Hmm....I need some more money...
