Volt gauge not working

I just got this volt meter and A/F gauge set off this guy on here. I hooked up both gauges as I believe they should be. The A/F works, the volt meter lights up but the needle doesn't move. I have the red hooked into the cigarette light the black grounded and the Orange onto the power cable to the altenator.

What have I done worng?

Try hooking the orange and the red together.

Re: Volt gauge not working

That was the way it was set up before and it didn't work. That's why I figured it needed a more direct connection.

Re: Volt gauge not working

Take the gauge out and put it directly on the battery. If it still does not work you have a bad gauge.

Re: Volt gauge not working

ya test the gauge first, then make sure its getting actual wire from charging system. also make sure the ground is good.
