Debadging 07 SI
Hey everyone, I conducted a search and I didn't find what I needed to know. I am planning to debadage the back of my trunk. Does anyone have any advice to doing so? Does anyone know if the "H" sign is screwed on or not? TIA!

heat gun, aka blow dryer and floss, and floss behind the letters and then use goo gone or something to get the crap underneath the actual emblem off. typically the "H" has 2 screws and the holes are in the trunk, might be difficult to cover up?

the H has to stay unless you get a body shop to weld them shut and repaint trunk. prolly not worth it. the civic and si should come out, its just glued on. dont forget to rewax once you use cleaners to get the goo out.

^ahaha just use floss...and goo gone to clean up... nothing serious i can do it with my eyes closed and dont u have a husband with a sti lol Im sure he already knew how to do it? I could be wrong???
Re: Debadging 07 SI
I don't understand why people take the H off the trunk, because to me it's pretty much saying your not proud of what you drive. I think it's cool to take off the front though specialy the 8th gen because they are huge.

Re: Debadging 07 SI
im proud of what i drive, and it should be obvious what kind of car it is to most people. but shaved trunk is just so clean. no need to have all sorts of emblem everywhere to advertise.

Re: Debadging 07 SI
i'm just the kind of person that don't get the point to it and when you take the H off it seems like it's missing something. I'm not saying no body is not proud of what they drive but some times it seems that way because everyone does it these days.
Re: Debadging 07 SI
Really? That would be so cool if you could!!! But I don't think we have meets up here.... I could be wrong.
Re: Debadging 07 SI
Um... yeah I'm pretty proud of what I drive but I ain't gotta flaunt it to everybody... it's not like they didn't know it was a honda when they see it. But it looks way cleaner without anything on it. But I wouldn't be on this site if I was ashamed to drive a Honda Civic Si.
Re: Debadging 07 SI
And his STi sucks. He's planning on getting a 350z soon... thank you lord. Re: Debadging 07 SI
As for the debadging, if the floss isn't doing what you want, and you can't make it to someone who can help you, you can take a putty knife and wrap a piece of duct tape on the edge (make sure it's tight and not all wrinkled). Once you have your heat gun on the badge you want off you can slowly work the putty knife underneath and lift the badge up. Still use goo gone to get the excess glue off, and then a good wash and wax. Heads up though, if you try this without the tape on the end of the putty knife, you will jack up your paint job. Otherwise it's cake, so good luck.

Re: Debadging 07 SI
If a person is seriously looking at your car more than likely they are going to know what the car is. The people who dont know what the diff kinds of cars look like, probably wont even notice/care that you dont have an H on your car.
Re: Debadging 07 SI
I just removed my civic and EX badges from the back of my car, but you can still see the outline of the 'civic' and the paint looks slighly faded. Will putting a coat of wax on clean this up?

Re: Debadging 07 SI
no it wont. wax usually does not alter the paint in any way, only protects it. get a bottle of meguiars ultimate compound and rub some on til it takes away the residues. then follow up with a good wax to protect the paint.
Re: Debadging 07 SI
If u remove the H it will leave 2 holes so u can either get them fixed at an autobody shop or on pro civic.com they sell JDM Honda emblems there red with a chrome H in the middle but its all like smooth. those would look pretty clean on a black civic inmy oppinion. Im still debating if i should put one on mine cuz its green i think it will look dumb.
