installing 04 struts/coilover on an 01 what will happen???
Ok please do not lock this thread because i did search on this and theres so much suspension pages its so hard to find good info.
I think i am going to be getting some coilovers off of an 04 and i want to install them on my 01. I know that the knuckle thingy at the bottom on my car is 14mm and the one on coilovers is going to be 16mm. That is NOT my question.
My question is what will happen if i install the coilovers that have holes that are 2mm wider. 2mm isnt very wide. I talked to a honda service guy and said i wouldnt hurt anything but i should probably get the knuckles on my car drilled to 16mm. I also looked at some coilovers and a lot of the cheaper ones only come in one model and that is the 16mm. So my question is what will happen ???
Will i wreck my suspension??? will i die a slow and painful death. I cant seem to get any answers because my threads keep getting locked. So please help me out here.
I also have a few more ideas about what i can do. I thought about getting some bushings made that would change the hole from 16mm to 14mm. What do u guys think. Please reply fast cuz i just know its gonna get locked.

Your car will go up in flames...
You do not want a 16mm hole there because you will have camber slippage. Boring your knuckles out will be a PITA considering they are solid and huge. You can get 01 knuckles instead

dont u mean 04 knuckles? how much do u think they are?? Its only 2mm and i dont think thats that much is it???thats like half a tenth of an inch. And i figure its only gonna slip when my front wheels leave the ground rite? If i torque the nuts tight enough will they still slip??? How much camber slipage am i lookin at? The honda service tech guy told me as long as my front end isnt leavin the ground and its not sliding ie drifting on the front wheels somehow i should be okay. He said it should be safe but he'd get them bored out. Are they really solid metal all the way thru how thick is the metal. Like ive used my drill press go go thru some pretty thick metal.
If i install them without changing anything am i gonna lose control like k-fed hahahahahaha

You can try to torque it down, but I do'nt suggest it. You can drill it out also...it's your call. Camber slips, it is a part of life with potholes and stuff. The last thing you want is to have camber coming in (because your toe comes in and eats tires) or worse having camber continually changing
