Fuel Pressure Setting On A Turbo Set Up?
MY QUESTION IS THIS ON A TURBO SET SET UP ,WHAT SHOULD BE THE FUEL PRESSURE SET AT? IF NO ONE HAS FOLLOWED MY TURBO MOD THREAD. CK IT OUT AND LET ME KNOW WHAT A REC. FUEL PRESSURE WOULD BE .I HAVE HEARD FROM 42-50 PSI. I GUESS IT WILL BE DETERMANED AT THE DYNO RUN AND TUNE . BUT NEED A GOOD SAFE AREA TO RUN IN. IM RUNNING A SLP FUEL RETURN SET UP WITH A WALBRO PUMP AND FPR. LOOKING FOR SOME IDEAS FROM THE BOOSTED MEMBERS OUT THERE . THANK YOU

im running 44psi on a return system with walbro in tank with the vacuum refernce NOT hooked up. Im running constant pressure and tuned to that.

Mine's set around 42-45 psi. Doesn't matter what you set it at really. The reason for the adjustment capability is to be able to get enough fuel on the top end without maxing and destroying an injector.

What your referring to is a common tuner practice to help the fuel atomize better and squeeze some more out of the injectors.

Re: Fuel Pressure Setting On A Turbo Set Up?
Fuel pressure does matter because it depends on the flow rate of the injector your using. Example is a 1000cc injector that may be rated THAT CC, AT 4 BAR ~ 58 PSI. If you need all 1000cc of that injector's pulse width then you need to run a consistent 4 BAR of FP or so.

Stock regulator runs at 40psi i believe, so if i were you i would sit with a happy medium of 45 or 46 and get it tuned!

Re: Fuel Pressure Setting On A Turbo Set Up?
For someone who doesn't know what to set fuel pressure at, it doesn't really matter. If he doesn't understand these concepts, he obviously isn't going to be running an extremely high hp setup right out of the box. When you talk flow rate, you're talking max flow rate, not partial throttle flow rate. If he is running rsx injectors, he could run 35 psi for fuel pressure and be fine. If its a rising rate regulator, at, say 10 psi, he should still have plenty of fuel, as his flow rate is increasing with every psi of boost.

Re: Fuel Pressure Setting On A Turbo Set Up?
Fuel pressure matters if you care about the life of your injectors... if a injector cals for a 48psi fuel pressure, and you run higher you can put a lot of excess strain on the injector and ruin it. And if you under pressure it, you will just end up maxing the injectors out quicker which causes them to work harder and can kill the life of them. do a little research before you post that.

Or you misquoted.
