Civic SI 2007 and Civic EX 2001

Civic SI only has 400 miles on it and Civic EX 2001 has 130,000 on it.

Which oil should I go with Synthetic or DIno? And if its either or which do you recommend for SYnth and Dino brands?

Will the seals leak if I go synthetic in the 2001 Civic?

When would I change to synthetic in the 2007 SI?

If I continue with DIno oil for a while in the SI 2007 is Valvoline Max the one to use until I decide to change to synthetic?

Will Valvoline Max work ok in the 130K 2001 Ex Civic? SHould I use another brand?

Last question, which oil filter should be used in both vehicles?

Btw my 1995 Honda Civic EX has 250,000 on it and my wife has been getting 3-4k oil changes at firestone and the engine still purs like a cat the tech also noted at honda.

THanks

Re: Civic SI 2007 and Civic EX 2001

I just purchased a new 2007 civic ex, great car. This oil change stuff is nuts. The salesman said well its best to use honda oil and filter. I have a 1999 civic si with 25oooo km on it and it works like a charm. The new unit has oil changes at 10000km, I always liked 5000km changes. As to oil filters fram have a questional rating on some of the sites I have read. I have used fram however for 30 years. So much for what you read.
