V-Tec and How it works

V-Tec and How it works
Hey everyone
I'm rather new to this whole kind of engine. I normaly have my head in bike engine and not a car. I haven't a clue about a V- Tec eninge in my car. I was wondering if someone could send me a link or respond to this and let me know how Vtec works and the ins and outs of it.
From what I have been told for my 1.6 SOHC V-Tec is that
sohc runs the intake and exhaust valve's and if that is true is there more anyone can tell me please
