Exclamation How to? '92 Civic DX driveshaft replacement

My drop dead gorgeous Spanish friend needs her driver's side CV joint changed. I obviously said yes. I'm in the parts business so I'm just going to replace the whole shaft. I work with VW's so I haven't had the chance to change a shaft on a Honda. Are there any special Honda tools needed to complete the job?

What tools are needed? (sizes?)

Any pointers?

Nik

you need a big socket..a breaker bar or impact gun. and a ball joint seperator. and a crow bar or pry bar.

I have all of that.

Is there just the single axle nut on the outside? What holds the inner CV joint?

If I remember correctly the vw's have about 8 allen head bolts holding it on.

Anyobdy know what the civics have? Keep in mind I am replacing the entire shaft as a whole.

the shaft pops out of the tranny. there is just the one bolt for the shaft but you have to break loose the ball joint on the lower control arm. the pry bar pops the axle out its only held in by the clip. make sure when you get the new axle it comes with that clip or else you will need to use the old one...but thats not reccomended....

So there is only one bolt on the outer cv joint side and there are NO bolts holding the inner cv joint on to the tranny? I just want to make sure I am hearing the correctly.

By the sounds of it, once I remove the ONE bolt and break loose the ball joint and remove the clip, the whole axle should come out, correct?
