another crazy turbo question
another crazy turbo question
hey guys
i have been entertaining th idea of piecing together a rear mount turbo kit. i have a garrett t04 turbo ready to go. i would attach the turbo to the old exhaust. i would fabricate an adapter to attach the two. i would then have to run tubing back and attach it to my cold air intake. i know rear mount turbos have there advantages but is it worth all the work. let me kno wwhat other problems i could have. id appreciate any help. thanks
oh yah ... i have a 2001 d17a1 civic

Aside from it taking forever to spool and there really being no where under the car to route a charge pipe... it fits under the hood. A T4 is a big *** turbo for this motor, put it 10 feet back it'll take from now to next year to spool up.
Those STS kits are great for cars where there's just no room under the hood like corvettes, but they're far from ideal.

ok maybe i wont do it then. so with just doing a normal turbo what do i need to control the boost. i know the d17 cant take much but how do i regulate it other than blow off valve. what else is necessary to make optimal performance.
