Any Probs with the 2k2 Civic?

I will be buying a new 2002 Honda Civic EX Coupe. After reading about all the problems on the 2k1 civics, I was wondering if anyone was having problems with their 2k2 civics? If so please let me know. Thanks

Don't get discouraged there great cars. I think for 2002 the changes where minimal, different power steering pump and an extra wiper speed. I haven't had any problems with my 2001 just some little stupid things which I think Honda fixed for 2002 like the rear deck rattle.

You also get a kew cup holder cover for the 2k2s. And no, the rear deck rattles in the 2k2, too. You're gonna run into some issues with the car, but it'll run for a long time. If you're gonna mod your car (especially in the inside), then you've got room to probably kill off some of the problems the car may have in terms of interior noise.

And if you DON'T know how to drive a 5-speed, the Civic is probably the perfect car to learn it on... easy shifting and the easiest clutch... funner driving (a lot more control)... and you save gas and $300 for having the automatic.

yeah i've just picked up my 2k2 si civic a couple of days ago ... i love it!! i let you guys know if i run into any problems.. so far nothing yet.

i've found that consumerguide.com website really good for doing research on cars, just so you know ~ the 2k2 civic got a "best buy" rating against all the cars in it's class. here's the link to the research they did on the civic:

Bought my 02 EX in late November, 4200 miles later, only the rear center brake light lense rattled, but i fixed it. Other than that no problems, love my car.

I got my 2k2 civic a couple of months a go..5400 miles on it and it is a 5 speed. The only problem I have had out of the car is that sometimes when I go out to crank the car it just turns over for a little while . I ask the dealer about it and he told me that sometimes if something like stuff on your key chain is close to the key then the key will not be able to send the signal to the ignition (the key has a chip in it that does this). So I have just rearranged my keys and the problem has seemed to have stoped. Definately go for the five speed! a load more fun and more control.

That problem is also caused by having less than 1/4 tank of gas. It takes a few seconds to crank if you keep the gas really low.
