Wink Headlight flash with alarm relay wiring

Hey there. I have a problem and I hope you fellow 7th gens can help. I wanted my headlights to flash with my parking lights when i armed/disarmed my alarm. So i took 2 SPDT relays and i wired them as followed.....
85- to the parking light output wire its +
86- ground
30- to 12v fused constant power
87- to parking light wire (have it hooked up to blue wire) although i know that their is two wires and locations for the parking lights
- to headlight wire (red/blue)

Keep in mind that the pin configuration for 86,85, and 30 are all the same on both relays. on one relay i have 87 going to the parking light wire and on the other relay i have 87 going to the headlight wire. I listed what wires i used above.

Now that i've done that when i arm/disarm my alarm nothing works. My parking lights dont flash anymore. everything else still works like regular like my headlights and parking lights. They just don't work when i arm and disarm my alarm. I haven't troubleshooted my wiring because it got dark outside. Maybe its something little that i'm overlooking or a wrong pin configuration on my relays. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

hahaha.....

u hve ur terminals incorrectly plugged....u have ur relay setup backwards

constant power is suppose into 87...and 30 is what suppose to go to ur headlight....

87 - constant power
30 - out to headlight
85 - parking + power
86 - ground

take this immage...its supose to be like this:
(just look at the relay part, discard everything else...pretend the ballast are ur headlights...and ur terminal 85 is ur + parking line)

sckew is an unknown quantity at this point
should be no problem
check for your CONSTANT 12V..fuse...and hear for relay clicking...
if clicked, then to the fuse, if no, check your parking output for 12V output or ground output...

The circuits you hooked up to are both negative.

The 30 pin on both relays needs to go to ground.

Replace the following fuses if blown:

fuse 2 under hood 15A
fuse 19 under hood 80A

Alright guys Ill try what you stated above. ChristmasPie what do you mean both 30 pins need to go to ground. Do you mean that pins 30 should go to my headlight wire and parking light wire of both relays and that 87 should be my constant 12V source.

Don't hook up pin 30 to 12V constant.
Hook it up to ground.

Everything else you're doing is fine.

With the application above...... finally got it figured out.......... i noticed that the headlight wire which is red/blue is negative. Is the way i have the relays wired, is that going to send out a positive 12 source to the negative headlight wire. If so isnt that backwards. Should i use a relay to convert the polarity of the 12v to a negative and then hook that up to the negative headlight wire. Otherwise if i just wire it up like above is that correct?

One last thing now when i arm/disarm the parking lights work but it flashes both the high beams and low beams very very dimmly........ I just want it to flash the low beams and have them flash as bright as if they were on. thanks for all the help

you should connect with two relay for both head light, 12V to red/yellow to the left and 12V to red wire of the right headlight...then the flashes of low beam or high beam will follow the last position where the headlight stalk was.

if it was at low beam position, the low beam will flash with the alarm output, if it was at high beam position, the high beam will flash with the alarm output.

your current connection is the high beam ground.....if you put the stalk to high beam position, you will dead short 12V to ground through your light module...DUN TRY!!

I got it working by only using one relay. the relay inside the alarm itself is already sending out a positive 12V to the parking light wire. so i just spliced that wire and hooked it up to pin 86 on a relay then grounded pins 85 and 30. Then i ran pin 87 to the negative headlight wire, which is blue/red. I have a question for you though. Everything does work the way it should and i succeeded in having what i wanted working (headlights flashing with the parking lights). When i first tested it out the high beams flashed and they did the whole rest of the night. Than in the morning when I got up, I noticed that when i arm/disarmed the alarm that the low beams flash now. How come all last night the high beams flashed than all of a sudden the next day the low beams flashed? I would prefer if the high beams flashed instead, but its not a huge ordeal.

Try firing up the red/blue wire at the switch as well as the blue/red. The red/blue looks to be negative trigger high beams only.
