Need help with box size
I built a box for my friends truck ... the subs need 6 cu ft but the box ended up being about 10 cu ft because of the placement of the subs. Theres no way around it so I was just wondering what you can put inside that take care of the 4 cu ft. Cotton? Help me out. Thanks.

can you not chamber it off and leave gaps between each chamber on the inside of the box? it will be just sealed off space. make 3 1.3 cubic feet boxes to place inside the box between then chambers. so it will be sub, 1.3 cu ft box, sub, 1.3 cu ft box, and so on. if youre doing a ported box youre going to have to just seal off some room on the inside back wall or something.

im sure a box that big could use some bracing, that counts toward reducing the box volume
edit: if its a sealed box dont worry about being dead on, a sealed box can vary by upto 30% with no noticeable decrease in output

those internal or external dimensions?
if external, thats only 8.7 cubes.
bracing is definitely a must
also remember, each sub will take up about .25 cubic feet because of its motor structure (at least if its a big 15)
so if its internal, were down to 9 and change
external, were down to 8 flat
youre definitely gonna want bracing on the baffle, but bracing isn't gonna offer you much displacement, unless you box off areas.
what youre gonna want to do is box off some areas inside the box
either that, or port it
what kind of 15's are these?
and could you by chance give me a picture, i might have some interesting design ideas for you

Because the subs aren't all in the same plane some of the sound waves can cancel out with each other likely resulting in deconstructive interference. When all drivers are in the same plane they will create waves at the same point and these waves will be in phase. The waves created by the lone driver will not be in phase with the waves created by the other three. The intermingling of these waves can cause bumps and dips where they shouldn't be thus altering the sound.
