radar detector hardwire - sunroof / moonroof?

I searched and found some good threads on hardwiring a Passport 8500 to the fuse box but is there there a simpler way to do it if you have a power moonroof? I wired our other 8500 in the Lexus behind the lighting and switch to the power roof. This was simple and short. I was just wondering if anyone had done this or even if was possible on the Civic. Thanks.

Trying to avoid going across the window and down the pillar but I may just take apart the switch and do so testing first.

You will find 12V constant signals at the sunroof motor and relays but not accessory. This is also true at the interior lights (you need to be able to turn the lights on without the car being on.) The best way to do this is to just pull the a-pillar and run your wiring across the headliner and down the pillar. I would recommend grabbing accessory at the ignition harness. Look for a black/red or a white/red.
