new system!

ok whats up! this is my second post, lol. the first thing i wanta do for my '03 coupe EX is put in a better sound system, so im gonna go with the Pioneer DEH-6800MP the main reason is the front AUX for my ipod, and because i hate alpine (bad history), anything i need to know? then i think i gonna get A sub ( most likely a kicker or other name brand). how big is needed? i'm thinking like a 12'' or a 10''. also i would get a 4x amp to power these speakers (Infinity Kappa 60.7cs ) in the front, as well as the sub. i would do 1x to each speaker and 2x to the sub. any other things i need to know? any suggestions for an amp or sub? is there a better HU for around $200? i would probably put the HU in first then wait till i have more money then the other components, which is the best order to go in? thanks in advance!

Sorry for the negativity bro. Some people forget we all start somewhere. Welcome to 7thgen.

If you are only getting one sub, get a 12". If you are getting 2, go with 10".

It sounds like you have the rest figured out. Alpine Type S or R subwoofers are a good place to start.

As for amps, I would get two seperate amps, a mono for the sub, and a 2 channel for the fronts. I've been out of touch on what is good here, I have some Canadian Blade Amps from 1999 that are still going strong, so I'v never looked into anything since then.

Your plans sound good, 6.5 infinity all around is my choice, maybe a infinity sub on a kenwood amp!!? I personaly like Kenwood but thats me, good luck. And do searches through the forums for questions before posting, there are too many of the same posts. That was not a negatiive response, hahahahahah, WELCOME!!

Is one Alpine Type-R sub enough? and could i still do a 4x amp, with 1 channel to each speaker (just doing the front), and bridge the other 2 two to the sub?

im lookin for normal bass that doesnt draw insane amounts of attention, but enough where its there and you can feel it. also whats a good amp for this set up for around $100

Bad idea. Just run a 4 channel amp for the door & rear speakers and mono amp for the sub(s).

For a decent subwoofer amp you probably will spend close to $200 or more depending on the brand. Same goes for a decent 4 channel amp.
