quick question where to run the power wires
yea im really new at this audio entertainment stuff. cuz i didnt really think i was gonna put heavy subs in my car but i got some for free and i looks sick so i guess ill hook it up.
first where do people usually run the 12 volt + to the amp? do they go under the car to the amp in the trunk or inside the car through the firewall if so where where?
also what is the basic setup i think its this but correst me if im wrong:
rca stero ouput to amp input, sterio wire to amp (to turn on amp), then 12+ to amp and amp ground. then amp + and -to subs with speaker wire. is this right?

run it through the firewall above the brake pedal, then through the sides and under carpet. run power wires on one side and speaker/rca on the other side.
Not through the sides, it's impossible to get any wires around the trunk release. Especially a power wire.
Remove the back seat and run it under the carpet, you'll be much happier. I have my power wire running down the passenger side now with all the speaker wire, I get feedback like a ****.

I just did my install. Run the power wire on the passenger side of the car. If you take off the kick panel and the side panel (after unbolting the seat belt bar) , then peel back the carpet under the glove box and you should see a big bundle of wires. I was actually able to cut alittle more of a slit into the gasket around the wires and stuck part of a clothes hanger into it, I then stuck the hanger through the 4 gauge power wire i was using and taped around it with electrical tape. Then I stuck the hanger in the hole, went under the hood and yanked on the hanger and out came the wire.
And I really dont understand what people are saying when they say they cant get their wires past the trunk release. My wires just go under the side panel, not even coming near the release levers.
