WHo has replace crank bearing yet?

Im going to have to replace the crankbearings do to low oil pressure condition. I have changed the oil every 3000 with syntec and done every maintance for this car and now they saythe crank bearings are shot. Just woundering if anyone else has already had to replace there bearings yet. Ohh and by the way my honda is a 01 with 40,000 miles on it. Pretty sad if you ask me.

swapped the oil pump, oil strainer, gone through 4 different kinds of oils. Check the oil pressure with 2 gauges and still at idle i have 2 to 4 psi. While driving its fine oil pressure just at idle it sucks. Friend owns a machine shop and even he said that a tale tale sign the bearings are shot. 4 of my honda friends that have been techs for 30 plus years all say its the crank bearings and that its becomming an issue with the 2001 civic.

bearing failure is very rare even on the newer civics. the only cause i can think of is a lightweight crank pulley.

this is a rare problem, and he said it was due to low oil pressure. our engines are pretty good, its the tranny and other stuff that breaks first.

yes sir. Mine was 800 bucks to get the crank turned , new piston rings and new bearings on the bottom end.
I didnt trust any of the jap d17a's i went and saw. They were just nasty for only having 40,000 miles on them.
