0.5 ohm stable amps??

Right now im in the process of selling my existing system and starting from scratch except for the wiring...im thinking about getting 2 of the pioneer TS-W3002SPL and if wired right would give me a .5 ohm load and i was wondering if anyone knows any really good amps that are .5 ohms stable because if not i can always get the TS-W3004SPL version which is 4 ohms per voice coil as opposed to 2 but i would rather the 2 ohm per coil version simply for the ability to run them at higher wattage...but anyways if any of yall know some good amps please tell me..

I think rule changes (and/or the popularity of DVC subs) have sent low-ohm amps the way of the dodo bird. Companies like Soundstream and Lanzar that used to brag about 1/2 or 1/4 ohm stability now offer nothing lower than 1 ohm.

You could get an older used one of those, but I think you'd be better off getting the two dual-4 ohm subs to give you a 1 ohm load. There's no inherent advantage to a .5 ohm load...yes, an amp that's stable into .5 ohm will probably put out more wattage into that load than it will into 1 ohm, but given the current rarity of .5 ohm-stable amps and the near-ubiquity of 1 ohm-stable amps, the selection and $/watt will be way better with a 1 ohm amp.

I woudl have to agree most amps these days do not go below 1 ohm to include the huge Hifonics amps, soundstream, zapco etc etc.. I woudl say go with the two in dual 4 ohm or get 3 of the 2 ohm subs

I can't really think of a big long list since a good portion of them were previously named.. however, nobody has mentioned Orion yet. They are now owned by DEI but hey.. it's still good stuff.
