I Have A 2001 4dr Lx I Wanna Drop In A D17a2, Does It Matter If It Comes From A Coupe Or Sedan Or If It Previously Had A Manual Transmission? Engine Bay Is The Same Right?
Ive Searched But Nothing Clarifies My Question. Sry If I Bother Any-1 With This.

No mods requered. Strainght drop. For the best results use d17a2 engine, d17a2 tranny & d17a2 ECU.
Your Honda dealer will have to programm correct code into your key, since you use different ECU

ok seems good, do you know of any good online stores that i can purchase this set-up from, i found an engine on ebay for about $750 with maybe 60k w/out tranny or ECU is that reasonable?, my worry is buying an engine that is no good, so im willing to spend a little more, u you know "peace of mind". oh yea thanks for your help!

truthfully its not worth it. keep the lx engine but on a ex head.

That is fine, but EX tranny has shorter gears, witch gives more benefit for the swap itself.

I am also interested in doing this swap, too. the shorter gears would be nice--and so would having an 04/05 tranny. My 02 is a little non-user friendly.

I've heard you can get a d17 for around $500, but I've never seen this price. Has anyone else seen this price?

i understand your point but i also wanna get an engine with fewer miles (current engine has 95,000k), so im actually doing it for 2 reasons, for newer and "faster" engine, so does anyone know of a good store they would recommend? i also wanna go turbo after the swap but hopefully prices for that will drop considerably (well to my budget )
