i own a 2005 jetta gli. im planning to install a blow off valve, whats the brand to go with and how long to install it?

Go with the cheapest one on ebay. Don't buy the actual bov, get the bov simulator. It sounds way better....lol.

I think Jetta GLI is a turbo version.
So there has to be a blow off valve already.
I dont see a point putting aftermarket BOV for just becuase.

First things first, are you sure your jetta has a blow off valve? Or does it have a compressor bypass valve? The first dumps the air into the atmosphere, the second recirculates into the intake tract. If your jetta came with a cbv, and you put on a bov, your car will probably run like complete crap.

Out of curiosity.. why are you asking civic owners for advice on modding your jetta? I'm sure this question has been asked 1000 times on a site like vwvortex or another vw site.

Boilermaker1 is a splendid one to behold

DO NOT put an atmospheric BOV on a 1.8T. Its recirculated back into the intake because the MAF accounts for the air. If you dump it, the car falls super rich because its missing the air... the car bogs every time the BOV opens since the cylinders flood and ends up doing big damage. Some of the DVs made by Forge, VF, etc... are specifically made for the 1.8T to be direct drop in fit, some of them have been tuned to make noise, yet still function properly with recirc. Cheapest upgrade is the DV from a 911 Turbo. Same valve, but with a brass diaphragm instead of the flimsy rubber one.
