infinity components.... basslink... install?

hey i have a SE 6 disk head unit and all stock speakers/tweeters.... i installed a basslink by tapping the rear speakers.... i bought some infinity 6010cs components and im wondering how i install?.... i was gonna get some reference speakers and just install them w/out an amp but i got the components because i bought them for the same price..... i really dont want to amp because the stock volume goes loud enough for me... for now..... maybe in the future but not sure yet... anyways how would i go about installing these components to my system.... do i just replace the front speakers/tweeters or do i have to connect anything to my basslink?... im really confused.....

i know i wont max out these components but i think the stock will do cuz my stocks r fine now i just want something that will fill in mids better.... plus i think if i amp these components theyll be overpowering the basslink.... please help me out

At this point, all you'll do is hook it up to the current leads from the stock HU in the door. Unfortunately, the stock HU might sound like it's loud enough with the stock speakers, but the components maybe much less efficient [even less than the reference coaxials]. You'll also more likely turn them up to the point that they distort, then you may have broken speakers.

You cna try em out, but for the speakers to be working up to their potential, an amp maybe neede, even a small 50x2 channel amp would do wonders.

really?.... damn... right now with all stock i go about up to 25 and it goes to 40.... how much would a 50x2 amp cost me?.... so installing these components without an amp will make it worst than stock?... also.... how would i install an amp since i already have my basslink tapping the rears.... and one more thing.... do u think the components will have more mid range wen turned up than stock did with the head unit i have ...

Welcome to the slippery slope You've already done the one thing you can do to improve the sound without making big changes - the Basslink tapped into the rear speaker leads.

From here on, you will face a series of choices - generally a good one and a half assed one. The components will almost certainly sound worse than the stockers. Using a slightly better than stock coax is the only easy thing you can do.

If you go down the component road, you will need an amp. Then you will need a source for the amp. This means either a different head or a line out converter to provide the connections you need.

And so it begins.

I've got Inifinity 6010cs components in my Civic, but I'm running them at 70w RMS each. They sound pretty good though.

The hardest part of the install was pulling the wiring through to the inside of the door. Here's a picture of my tweeter installed:

It took a little bit of trimming the mounting brackets that came with the speakers to get them to fit in the sail panel, but nothing major.
