Need Advice - 1/4 bolts broken on my car
Hello All,
I am requested the advice and opinions of people here on the board. I have gone through nothing short of an ordeal with regards to tires and independent mechanics. So allow me to explain my string of bad luck over the past 3 days.
Monday, I blow a tire on the highway. I call a tow truck who tows me to my mechanic. My insurance was going to cover about 80% of the tow.
So I ripped apart the inner side wall of my 205/40/R17 rubber bands I mean tires. I call my brother to get my spare steelies + tires and we put them on until I decided if I want to buy a new tire for my rims (probably wont)
So the mechanic bolts em on and I leave. The wheel is vibrating very slightly, it being so late and the shop about to close I figure its just an unbalanced wheel and would take it back tommorow.
BOY WAS I WRONG
I was debating weather or not I should go for a 130km drive or go to dinner with some friends. Thank heavens I went to dinner, as we were leaving the parking lot the vibration become louder and louder. I stopped the car and did a quick check as I felt perhaps I might have something in my wheel well. It being dark I find nothing.
So I the shaking becomes louder and louder so I stop at a red light to find my car sitting on its tire at a 45 degre angle. All 4 bolts were off and my car was this >< close to sitting on one of its rotors.
THE MECHANIC DIDN'T TIGHTEN ANY BOLTS ON THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL!
I had to walk a km and a half to find only 2 bolts. So as I begin jacking up my car a storm rolls in, and the intersection where I was stopped at lost power. Making it even darker.
I managed to bolt on my rims and drive home.
So I go to the mechanic and he begs for my forgivness (wasnt the main mechanic who did it) so he brings out 2 bolts to finish tightening my wheel.
as he does this that little nub the bolt goes on (sorry i suck at names for parts) BROKE OFF.
So the guy says come back tommorow and we'll fix it.
So I came back and after 2 hours (me and my slightly more car savvy friend were watching as they did the whole job) and they fixed it, after using a blow torch got the old nub out and began welding the new one in from the back.
As soon as he took the air gun too it, it fell off again.
He then blamed ME for breathing down there neck which didn't allow them to do their job and asked me to come back tommorow.
Obviosly I am NOT going back.
My question to you guys are
1) Should I take this to Honda or take it to the body shop where i had my car painted ( I know the mechanic)
2) Should just the 1 nub be changed or all 4?
I am booking an appointment with Acura (around the corner from honda and better customer service then Sisley honda) to do this job.
Your opinoins guys are apprecaited. Please forgive any spelling mistakes as I am in a rush to post this at work.

replace what? they tried fixing it by replacing the neccassary parts but there idiots that dont know how to weld. My car is not going back to that butcher I mean mechanic. I'm lucky im not dead when he failed to tighten the nuts.
I booked an appointment at Acura (honda has shittier customer service in my area) and am just going to have to take the hit. It is after all the wheel assembly. Who knows how many other nubs were weakened by me driving around with no/not enough bolts?
lets not forget, the nub fell off right away, say it didn't immidiatly it would have within the first 100km. I drive on the highway to work, if a bolt came off at 120 km/h it would be like a bullet.
Damn incompetent mechanics.
