car theft
I recently bought a 2003 honda civic ex coupe and i read up on the security features for my car and it sounds fullproof. From what i read, im in disbelief that any common theif could steal my car. I'm aware that the older models were a playground for theifs, but these newer models are coming equiped fullproof and i would really like to know how fullproof it is. If anyone has any stories of their car being stolen with all the preventative measures taken and not by accident and that successfully stole it, please explain. Thanks.
I always just keep in mind "If a human can make it, then a human can destroy it." There is someone out there that has the skills and tools to steal a car with an immobilizer but you're not going to see a thief with a crow-bar and screwdriver start it up. And remember also that with a flat-bed tow truck you can steal just about anything.
you can break into the car in less than a minute without damage and start the car easily in another minute. just gotta have the right tools, ice scraper, coat hanger, screwdriver, and hammer! lol. don't feel so safe about it.

thanks for your replys. i also note that ya anything can be stolen, its just a matter of who is stealing it. im more worried about the common thiefs. if it is like you say it is (jam a screw driver into it), then how would it be possible to get around the immobilizer? i may be old fashioned i guess, but the most common theif i dont see them getting in. it also sounds like not many people with this type of year have had many thefts? i may be proven wrong though.
