The best advice I can give you is to stay away from the bargain brands like Dual, Sony, etc.
Stick to high end name brands like Clarion, Alpine, Eclipse, etc.
You are going to get what you pay for, when buying brand new. Sure you can get a $100 HU that plays MP3 cds and has a ton other features, but its going to overheat and sound like crap.

Look into the new clarions, the 845MP is great. Alpine is also good, but they recently knocked down some of their lower models from 4V pre-outs to 2V, so to get higher output from an alpine you're gonna pay $$$. Clarion is a great value for $$$ IMO
yeh, I'm doubting between Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer.
but they don't really got what I want, I'd love something with a harddisk and stuff so I can just dumb all my mp3's on. and I'd love to play DivX files on it, and as far as I know only JVC has dvd players with that function and I dont really wanna buy JVC :/

I was thinking I might better go for some kinda computer install in my glovebox or something.. is it possible to run a low end computer on ur 12v line ? since the highest power usage on a computer is still 12v it should be possible right ?
if you're not an audiophile, just about any decent mp3 deck will do that bestbuy/circuit city carrys.
look into pioneer, alpine, eclipse, panasonic, some jvc, and some kenwood. ive owned 3 pioneer decks and they gave me no problems.
check out www.onlinecarstereo.com <----they have great prices around the net

thnx for the link, the most important thing for me is to be able to play my MP3's without having to use CD/DVD's, like the USB flash drive thing n stuff.
but I need at least 10GB space , that doesnt come in flash drives :/ and I dont really wanna get ipod involved.
and the 2nd thing thats important to me is taht I can play DivX files with it.
I know I could get a normal alpine CVA-1014 and connect a home DVD player with divx to it but that's just stupid imo.
