Unhappy Gas Tank Cover will Not Open

--EDIT--
My Mad after my post forum search skillz have yeilded an answer. Sorry for the clutter
--END EDIT--

Hello everyone

Of course, it happens on a holiday weekend when no one is open

I pulled into the gas station today to fill up and the gas tank cover release won't work. It makes a clicking sound that seems to be coming from about halfway back from the front of the car underneath the driver-side door when the release button is pushed, but the cover never releases.

I drive a 2004 2-door Civic, 5-speed manual.

Even if I can't fix it myself, is there another override release somewhere that I can at least get gas for the weekend?

same thing happened to me a couple of months ago, im just too lazy to fix it but there is a way to open it without using that. Open the trunk and peel back the carpet on the left side of the trunk, reach in until you get close to the gas cap and you will a black **** thing with a wire going into it. turn it to the left or right while pulling and the door should open. You can go the dealer to get it fixed, i have just been too lazy to go and its not really that hard to open it from the trunk...let me know how it goes
